BCHL Finals recap – Saturday, April 14

The Wenatchee Wild held the Prince George Spruce Kings to 15 shots, including only three in the third period, to claim a 4-2 win in Game 2 and go up 2-0 in the BCHL Finals.

AJ Vanderbeck was in on all four Wild goals and scored the winner in the second period. He and Lucas Sowder tallied in the opening frame after Blake Hayward had opened the scoring for PG.

In the second, Vanderbeck’s winner came at the 17:28 mark. Hayward got PG back within one in the third but Jasper Weatherby notched an empty -net goal in the final minute of regulation to seal it.

Austin Park earned his second-straight win with the 15-save effort.

Game 3 goes Monday at 7 p.m. in Prince George.
