BCHL Playoff recap – Wednesday, March 22

BCHL-FPC-180Kohen Olischefski scored twice in 44 seconds in the third period, allowing the Chilliwack Chiefs to come back and defeat the visiting Wenatchee Wild 3-2 and eliminate the No. 1-seed Wild from the playoffs.

Cole Poliziani opened the scoring for the Chiefs with the only goal of the first period with Aaron O’Neill and Ben Fanjoy drawing assists.

In the middle frame, Wenatchee drew even on a goal from Colin Burston and the Wild went ahead near the midway mark of the third on a goal by AJ Vanderbeck. But Olischefski had the needed replies, tying the game just 1:58 after Vanderbeck’s go-ahead goal and then notching the winner only 44 seconds after that.

The win completes a 4-0 series sweep for the Chiefs who move on to face the winner of the Powell River-Victoria series to determine who will go to the Fred Page Cup Finals.

Mark Sinclair made 25 saves for the win, improving his record to 8-2 in the playoffs.
