BCHL Playoffs: Saturday, April 2

The Chilliwack Chiefs joined the Nanaimo Clippers and West Kelowna Warriors in what is now a three-way tie as each team has one of three wins necessary to reach the Fred Page Cup Finals.

After a scoreless first period, the visiting Chiefs opened the scoring in the second frame, with Jake Smith scoring his fourth of the playoffs 6:59 in. Kale Kane scored 1:03 after to make it 2-0, but Sheldon Rempal scored his eighth goal of the playoffs for Nanaimo to cut the lead in half after 40 minutes.

The third period was all Chiefs. Jordan Kawaguchi scored his seventh of the postseason 6:20 into the final frame, and Darien Craighead added an empty netter to help Chilliwack prevail, 4-1.

Aidan Pelino also maintained his phenomenal playoff campaign by stopping 34 of 35 shots faced, while Evan Johnson made 28 saves for Nanaimo. Both teams are slated to meet again on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. in Chilliwack.
