Brown-Maloski inks with Bemidji State

CBMAfter capping his BCHL career on a high note, Trail Smoke Eaters captain Connor Brown-Maloski has another line for his hockey resume – an NCAA college hockey commitment.

Brown-Maloski led the Smokies to their first playoff appearance in six seasons and helped them to a first-round series win over Salmon Arm. He’ll now set his sights on Bemidji State University (BSU) in Minnesota for the coming season.

A native of Kamloops, Brown-Maloski registered in goals, assists and points this past season with 15-39-54 in 53 games. He was instrumental in Trail’s postseason as well as he notched eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 10 games.

For his BCHL career, the 6-foot, 190-pound forward totaled 35 goals and 75 assists for 110 points in 215 games.

At Bemidji State, Brown-Maloski will join a Beavers program that featured four BCHL alums this past season in Brett Beauvais and triplets Gerry, Leo and Myles Fitzgerald. Other BCHLers from this past season to commit to BSU are Brendan Harris, Charlie Combs, Ross Armour and Owen Sillinger.

The Beavers compete in the NCAA’s Div. I Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) along with Alabama-Huntsville, Alaska, Alaska-Anchorage, Bowling Green, Ferris State, Lake Superior State, Michigan Tech, Minnesota State and Northern Michigan.
