Conlon commits to Amherst College

Victoria Grizzlies graduating captain P.J. Conlon developed into a reliable scoring threat this past season and the program that’s recruited him for next season hope that trend continues.

Conlon is headed to NCAA Div. III Amherst College in Massachusetts. The 6-foot, 190-pound native of Goderich, Ont. finished second in Grizz scoring last season with 21 goals and 31 assists in 57 games. This after a rookie BCHL campaign the year prior where he registered six goals and 13 assists.

Amherst has claimed three Northeast Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) titles in the last seven seasons and are coming off an 11-12-4 campaign where they surrendered just 38 goals in 18 conference games but managed to score only 33 themselves in those contests.

The NESCAC is a strong conference on the Div. III landscape and Amherst competes against programs such as Tufts, Bowdoin, Colby, Hamilton, Trinity and Middlebury.

Conlon is currently the lone BCHL product committed to Amherst. The club had no BCHL alums on the roster last season.
