Huge week for BCHL alums

Most weeks of the college hockey season, at least one BCHL graduates is recognized with a conference player of the week award.

But sometimes, there are so many at once it’s hard to recognize them all properly.

Such is the case this week as five BCHL alums have earned conference player of the week honours. Here is a list of the names and links to the releases from the players’ conferences:

  • Michael McNicholas of New Hampshire is the Hockey East player of the Week. The former Nanaimo Clippers and Vernon Vipers standout had 33-68-101 in 91 career BCHL games. A native of Manhattan Beach, Calif., he is now a senior at UNH.

  • Chase Perry of RPI is the ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week. The Wenatchee Wild alum went 23-16-2 in his lone BCHL campaign and had a 2.62 goals-against average. The Andover, Minn. product and Detroit Red Wings draft pick is a junior at RPI

  • Sheldon Rempal of Clarkson is the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week. The Nanaimo Clippers graduate racked up 110 goals, including 59 is his final BCHL season, and 103 assists in 167 career BCHL games. The Calgary product is a sophomore at Clarkson

  • Nick Hutchison of Canisius is the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week. The Salmon Arm Silverbacks alum had 23 goals and 29 assists for 52 points in 63 career BCHL games. The native of Hicksville, N.Y. is now a sophmore at Canisius.

  • Brett Magnus of Sacred Heart is the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week. The former Powell River Kings netminder went 24-20-1 with a 3.23 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage with the Kings. The Montreal native is now a junior with Sacred Heart
