Jones’ Impressive Week Earns him BCHLPOW

NJones-mugPenticton Vees captain Nic Jones has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending May 7, the league announced Monday.

In the last four games of the Western Canada Cup, Jones was the catalyst for the Vees as he tallied two goals and six assists. The Edmonton, Alta. product was in on all three goals Sunday, contributing with two goals and an assist in a 3-2 win over the Chilliwack Chiefs, sending the Vees to the RBC Cup in Cobourg, Ont. Jones added two assists in back-to-back games against the Portage Terriers on Thursday and the Battlefords North Stars Saturday.

The Vees captain had a power-play point in every game this past week. Jones is committed to the University of North Dakota for next season.
