Jones takes final BCHLPOW of season

Penticton Vees forward Nic Jones has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending May 21, the league announced Tuesday.

Jones had two goals and two assists over the Vees’ final three games at the RBC Cup national championship in Cobourg, Ont. The Edmonton product had a goal and two helpers in a 4-0 round-robin win over the Trenton Golden Hawks. He also scored the Vees’ lone goal in Saturday’s semifinal defeat to the Cobourg Cougars.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound centre led the Vees with six points in five games at the RBC Cup. He is committed to North Dakota for next season.
