Kozlowski commits to Tigers

SKozlowskiJust 14 games into his BCHL career, Coquitlam Express forward Sam Kozlowski has earned his stripes.

He’ll get to wear them when he suits up for the Tigers of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he’ll join the team for the 2018-19 season.

Kozlowski played three games as an Express affiliate last season and has three goals and an assist in 11 games so far this season.

RIT has recruited heavily from the BCHL in past seasons with Matt Garbowsky, Brad McGowan and Josh Mitchell among their top performers. With those players now graduated, the Tigers current roster features BCHL alums Myles Powell, Christian Short, Alexander Perron-Fontaine, Todd Skirving and Garrett McMullen. The Tigers’ most well-known alum is Vancouver Canucks defenceman Chris Tanev, who played one season there before signing an NHL contract.

Kozlowski is one of two current BCHL players committed to RIT with Chilliwack Chiefs forward Will Calverley the other.

RIT competes in the NCAA’s Div. I Atlantic Hockey Association against Air Force, AIC, Niagara, Mercyhurst, Canisius, Robert Morris, Bentley, Army, Sacred Heart and Holy Cross.
