BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER
The Coquitlam Express hockey club is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic individual to serve as the team’s Business Operations Manager, a key team member of a privately owned and operated organization focused on performance on and off the ice.
The Business Operations Manager will report to the President and the General Manager and will be responsible for the overall business management of the club, including promotion, game-day operations, organization and supervision of staff, interns and volunteers, oversight and support of sales and marketing, and day-to-day administration. The individual will also work together closely with the coaching staff to organize team-sponsored events and other hockey-related activities.
Given the job responsibilities, we are seeking to interview candidates with strong marketing, promotion, supervisory, financial and administration skills. In addition, we are looking for self-starters who can work without close supervision and who have proven track records as team leaders.
The ideal candidate will possess:
– Post secondary education in business management;
– Small business management experience;
– Proficient in [MS Office and Quickbooks] and other relevant software;
– Commitment to excellent customer service;
– Ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders including staff, corporate partners, hockey operations, players, volunteers and community groups;
– Passion for hockey and team-building that fuels a very strong commitment and work ethic.
The job must be a labour of love. The salary will have a base amount with upside opportunity through a commission/bonus structure based on performance and will be commensurate with experience. The office is located at the Poirier Recreational Centre in Coquitlam.

Experience in a team environment as well as knowledge in skate sharpening and general equipment repair are valuable assets in this role.
