O’Neill Commits to Lake Forest

After a honing his game in Chilliwack for the past two seasons, Chiefs forward Aaron O’Neill will head back to the U.S. for the next stage of his hockey career.

The product of Franklin, TN. will sport the black and red of Lake Forest College for the 2017-18 NCAA Div. III season. Nicknamed the Foresters, Lake Forest is based out of Lake Forest, Ill. and competes in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA).

In 50 games this past season, the 6-foot-1 forward posted 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points with the Chiefs. O’Neill was involved in two deep postseason runs for Chilliwack, tallying four goals and four assists in 41 playoff appearances.

The Tennessee native will join a Lake Forest squad that finished fourth in the NCHA standings with 16 wins in 26 games. The Foresters share the NCHA with Adrian, St. Norbert, Marian, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Concordia (Wis.), St. Scholastica, Northland, Lawrence, Aurora and Finlandia.

The 215-pound forward is the lone BCHL recruit on the Lake Forest roster.
