Ruddy commits to Windsor Lancers

Prince George Spruce Kings fan favourite, Chays Ruddy will be heading to Windsor University to play USports hockey with the Lancers for the 2018-19 season.

Ruddy joined the Kings in August from the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL and helped lead Prince George to the BCHL Final. During the season, Ruddy had 14 assists and added five more during the playoff run.

Ruddy has 151 regular-season Junior A games under his belt and 54 playoffs games. He has also competed in two RBC Cups with Trenton.

“We are excited for Chays and his commitment to Windsor University for next season,” said Spruce Kings head coach Adam Maglio. “Chays was a tremendous competitor and leader for this us this year. He has left our program in a better place and this commitment to play USports Hockey is very well deserved.”

Ruddy also posted on Twitter saying: “Very excited to announce I will be continuing my academics and hockey career at The University of Windsor! Thank you to my coaches, friends, teammates, and especially my family for everything they have done to help me reach this point. #GoLancers”

The Cobourg, Ont. native will join former BCHLer and Spruce King Adam Burnett on the Windsor roster next year.
