Scheel earns BCHLPOW honours

Penticton Vees goaltender Adam Scheel has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 8, the league announced Tuesday.

Scheel made 69 saves on 73 shots in Penticton’s weekend home-and-home set with the Vernon Vipers. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound native of Lakewood, Ohio posted a .945 save percentage and a 1.85 goals-against average in the Vees’ 3-2 home win on Friday and their 2-2 tie on the road on Saturday. He was named first star in the win and second star in the tie.

Scheel now has a 4-0-1 record on the season with a .952 save percentage and a 1.45 goals-against average. Penticton has yet to lose this season (6-0-0-1) and are three points out of first in the Interior division with games in hand. Scheel is committed to the University of North Dakota for the 2018-19 season.
