Stirling earns college future

Brett Stirling finished his BCHL career on a high note and it’s earned him a chance to play college hockey in the coming season.

The native of Aurora, Ont. set career highs with 27 assists and 31 points and helped the Grizzlies to the BCHL semifinals. Stirling, a right-shot defenceman, will take his game to Connecticut College to play for the NCAA Div. III Camels in the 2017-18 season. He finishes his BCHL career with eight goals and 37 assists to go along with 89 penalty minutes in 95 games.

At Connecticut College, Stirling joins a Camels program that competes in the NCAA Div. III New England Small College Athletic Association (NESCAC). The Camels compete in the NESCAC along with Bowdoin, Colby, Amherst, Bates, Hamilton, Middlebury, Trinity, Tufts, Williams and Wesleyan.

Stirling will be the first lone BCHL alum on the Camels roster next season.
