The Silverbacks defeat the Capitals 3-2

Bo Didur came up big, stopping 25 of 27 shots throughout the game. The Salmon Arm Silverbacks took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Josh Latta.

Josh Latta chipped in with 2 goals and Rhett Kingston contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the second period, Kingston opened the scoring for the Silverbacks with a goal at 4:44 with helpers from his teammates Chorney and Adams. Broadhurst answered for the Capitals with a goal at 8:00 with assists from Thorpe and Davis-Martel. Latta answered for Salmon Arm with a goal at 19:18 with helpers from Kingston and Hora.

In the third, Latta deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 5:29 with an assist from defenseman Hayles. Zawatsky answered for Cowichan Valley with a goal at 18:19 with a helper from Laroche.

The Silverbacks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Didur’s big night as he stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced. Didur’s counterpart, Dery, also had a big night, managing to stop 35 of 38, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Salmon Arm Silverbacks’ record to (1-4-0-0).
