Zweep secures NCAA future

zweepNolan Zweep could play one more year of junior hockey but he’s found the right fit for school and will head to Western New England University starting in the fall.

The Chilliwack Chiefs forward split last season between Chilliwack and Prince George and this season with the Chiefs, he has four assists in 33 games, including three in his last four games.

He will be joining a Golden Bears program that competes in the NCAA’s Div. III Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). Zweep is the lone recruit from the BCHL on the Golden Bears 2017-18 class currently.

The Golden Bears compete in conference against programs such as Curry College, the University of New England, Salve Regina University and Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Western New England is located in Springfield, Mass. The school has 3,955 undergraduate and graduate students and offers close to 50 undergraduate degree programs.
