Nine current BCHL players and one league alumnus have been selected to participate in this year’s World Junior hockey tournament, Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.
Five BCHLers were selected to represent the German team, four will suit up for Team Latvia, while one alumnus will act as team captain for Slovakia.
In addition to the main tournament representatives, another nine players participated in other international tournaments in recent weeks.

This tournament took place from Dec. 7 to 13 in Bled, Slovenia where Team Norway took home the gold.
Division 1B:
- Hungary – Dome Szongoth (Vernon Vipers)
This tournament took place from Dec. 8 to 14 in Milano, Italy where Szongoth’s Hungarian team won gold.
Division 2A:
- Great Britain – Brodie Kay (Spruce Grove Saints)
This tournament will take place from Jan. 4 to 10 in Bucharest, Romania.
Asia Championships:
- Korea – Shin Yoon Min (Surrey Eagles)
- Japan – Kazumo Sasaki (Prince George Spruce Kings)
- Japan – Tai Ushio (Prince George Spruce Kings)
This tournament took place from Nov. 20 to 23 in Beijing, China, where Kazakhstan won gold.
