2025 NHL Entry Draft Preview

The 2025 NHL Entry Draft in Los Angeles, Calif. is set for June 27 and 28.

Like every year, several BCHL players come into the draft ranked by NHL Central Scouting. Today, we will take a look at the top prospects from the league.

Francesco Dell’Elce (D) – University of Massachusetts (Penticton Vees)

Ranked #82 among North American skaters

The 20-year-old played his freshman season at the University of Massachusetts in 2024-25 and was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team after totaling seven goals, 17 assists and 24 points in 40 games. The year prior, he was a BCHL Second-Team All-Star and member of the All-Rookie Team in his lone season with the Penticton Vees where he put up 38 points in 54 games, leading the team in scoring from the back end.

Kale Dach (F) – Sherwood Park Crusaders

Ranked #136 among North American skaters

Dach played two BCHL seasons with the Sherwood Park Crusaders and was named team captain in his second campaign. In 2024-25, the Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. product finished second in league scoring with 87 points in 54 regular-season contests, while his 65 assists were tied for the most in the league.

He is committed to Penn State University.

Jeremy Loranger (F) – Sherwood Park Crusaders

Ranked #149 among North American skaters

Loranger is the BCHL’s reigning Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year and scoring champion after he became just the fifth player since 2015-16 to eclipse the 100-point plateau in a single season, notching 105 points in 54 contests. His 40 goals were the most in the league and he also tied for the most assists with 65.

He is committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Poul Andersen (F) – Sherwood Park Crusaders

Ranked #151 among North American skaters

Rounding out the trio of Sherwood Park Crusaders forwards in the Central Scouting rankings, Andersen was the team’s third-leading scorer with 59 points in 51 games. 29 of those points came from goals, which tied for seventh most in the BCHL last season

He is committed to the University of Maine.

Drew Hockley (D) – Quinnipiac University (Victoria Grizzlies)

Ranked #189 among North American skaters

Hockley started out the 2024-25 campaign with the Victoria Grizzlies, his second season with the team, and was one of the top defensive point producers in the league, collecting 24 points in 23 games by the end of November. That resulted in him getting the call to head to Quinnipiac University a year earlier than expected as he joined the program in December and ended up playing in 23 collegiate games, producing a goal and three assists.

Max Heise (F) – Penticton Vees

Ranked #209 among North American skaters

Heise played two BCHL seasons with the Penticton Vees from 2023 to 2025. In his second campaign, he more than doubled his point total from his rookie year, finishing with 40 points in 50 games, including a team-high 27 goals. The 19-year-old also led his team in scoring during the 2025 postseason with 17 points in 14 contests.

He is committed to Michigan State University.

Bor Glavič (G) – West Kelowna Warriors

Ranked #22 among North American goaltenders

A native of Slovenia, Glavič joined the West Kelowna Warriors in late December, making his North American junior hockey debut, having previously spent his entire career in his home country. With the Warriors, he made 16 appearances, going 8-6-0 with a 2.85 goals-against average.

He is the only BCHL goaltender included on NHL Central Scouting’s Final Rankings.

Jaden Cholette (G) – Cranbrook Bucks

Unranked in NHL Central Scouting’s Final Rankings

Cholette was included in Central Scouting’s Players to Watch list at the beginning of the 2024-25 season. In his rookie year in the BCHL, the 2006-born netminder made 33 appearances for the Cranbrook Bucks, finishing the with an 18-13-2 record, a .908 save percentage and a 2.95 goals-against average with two shutouts. At the conclusion of the season, he was voted to the league’s All-Rookie Team.
