Armour commits to Bemidji State

R.ArmourRoss Armour of the Trail Smoke Eaters has committed to Bemidji State University of the NCAA Div. I Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) for the 2018-19 season.

A native of Rossland, B.C. – just outside Trail – Armour posted 9-26-35 last season in 53 games and is off to a fine start to this season with 3-4-7 in six games. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound forward is currently on a five-game point streak as well.

At Bemidji State, Armour joins a Beavers program that features four BCHL alums in triplets Myles, Leo and Gerry Fitzgerald as well as Brett Beauvais. The Beavers WCHA conference schedule includes Bowling Green, Alabama-Huntsville, Northern Michigan, Alaska, Alaska-Anchorage, Lake Superior State, Ferris State, Minnesota State and Michigan Tech.

Beavers hockey history includes 21 conference titles, 13 small-college national championships and a trip to the 2009 NCAA Frozen Four. BSU has seen 82 student-athletes recognized as All-Americans, and eight former Beavers have gone on to play on hockey’s grandest stage—the National Hockey League.

The Beavers hockey teams moved to the state-of-the-art Sanford Center in 2010. The building is the centerpiece of a $90-million project and is widely regarded as of the one of finest facilities in college hockey.
