4-goal game propels Castagna to BCHL Player of the Week

Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Stephen Castagna has been named the FortisBC BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Apr. 11.

Castagna was an offensive machine in his three games last week, totaling nine points on six goals and three assists, and vaulting into the BCHL scoring lead with 13 points on the season.

The North Vancouver, B.C. native started his week with a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss to the Victoria Grizzlies and followed that with another one-goal, one-assist performance in a 5-0 win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals in a game he was named the second star.

The real highlight of Castagna’s week came on Sunday afternoon in a rematch against the Grizzlies when he scored four times and added one assist in a losing effort. He was named first star of the game.

Through five contests, Castagna has multiple points in every game so far this year.
