BCHL alums on the move at NHL trade deadline

The NHL’s trade deadline passed at Noon Pacific time on March 1 and a few BCHL graduates were included in some of the deals that got done in the final hours.

— Powell River Kings alum Mat Bodie, who took a share of the 2010 BCHL Top Defenceman Award, was acquired by the Buffalo Sabres from the New York Rangers in a deal that sent Daniel Catenacci to the Blueshirts.

— West Kelowna Warriors alum Grayson Downing was acquired by the Arizona Coyotes from the Minnesota Wild along with a 2017 first-round draft pick, a 2018 second-rounder and a 2019 fourth-rounder in exchange for Martin Hanzal, Ryan White and a 2017 fourth-round draft pick.

— Victoria Grizzlies grad Jordie Benn was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens from the Dallas Stars in return for Greg Pateryn and a 2017 fourth-round pick.
