BCHL grad Jason Krog signs on with Canucks

Chilliwack Chiefs graduate and Fernie, B.C. native Jason Krog is coming home. Last year's American Hockey League MVP has signed a one-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks and is ready to fight for an NHL roster spot after two dominating seasons with the Chicago Wolves.

Last season, Krog was honoured as the AHL's regular season and playoff Most Valuable Player. Altogether, the 32-year old scored 148 points in 110 games, leading Chicago to a Calder Cup championship.

He has also played 198 National Hockey League games with the New York Islanders, Anaheim Ducks, Atlanta Thrashers and New York Rangers.

Krog is also a former Hobey Baker Award winner, joining Paul Kariya, Brendan Morrison and Ryan Duncan as former BCHLers to receive college hockey's highest individual honour.
