BCHL Playoff recap – Saturday, March 11

BCHL-FPC-180A goal each period and 32 saves from Mark Sinclair enabled the Chilliwack Chiefs to defeat the host Langley Rivermen 3-1 and claim a 4-2 series victory.

Jordan Kawaguchi notched his first of two on the power play to open the scoring in the first. Langley’s Reid Yochim scored unassisted to tie the game later in the opening frame but it would be the only shot to beat Sinclair on the night.

Langley put everything they had left into the third period, outshooting the Chiefs 13-4 but they couldn’t solve Sinclair, who was named 1st Star. Kawaguchi got his second of the night into an empty net to put the game away. Chilliwack moves on to Round 2, the Mainland Division finals, where they await the winner of the Prince George – Wenatchee series.
