On this week’s episode of the BCHL Podcast, we have two special guests who just had BCHL year-end trophies named after them.
Our first interview is with longtime NHL play-by-play man and former voice of the Vancouver Canucks Jim Hughson (4:05) who got his start calling BCJHL games in Penticton and Kelowna in the 1970s and recently had the league’s Broadcaster of the Year award named after him.
We also speak with former BCHL defenceman Campbell Blair (32:29) who played four seasons in the league from 1983 to 1987 and suited up for the Shuswap Totems, Summerland Buckaroos and Vernon Lakers. Blair holds several league records for defencemen, including goals and points in a single season, as well as career assists and points. The league announced earlier this week that it’s Top Defenceman Award would be renamed the Campbell Blair Trophy.
