BCHL Road Show set for this weekend

The BCHL Road Show supported by LNG Canada gets going this Family Day long weekend from Tamitik Arena in Kitimat, B.C.

Game action between the Langley Rivermen and the Prince George Spruce Kings begins Saturday night, but there are events taking place all weekend long, starting Friday where both teams will be visiting local schools in the community, including Haisla Community School, Kildala Elementary, Nechako Elementary, St. Anthony’s Elementary and Mount Elizabeth Middle & Secondary. Along with Vancouver Canucks Alumni members Dave Babych and Jyrki Lumme, the players will also be hosting hockey clinics all day long along.

On Saturday, the pre-game festivities begin with the Fan Zone at Tamitik Arena which will feature a free skate, autograph sessions from BCHL players as well as the Canucks Alumni, activities for kids and much more.

Game one of the event takes place Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m., while the second contest is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this great event to the community of Kitimat,” said BCHL Executive Director Steven Cocker. “It’s been months of planning, but we’re finally here and ready to put on a great show.

“On top of bringing top-tier BCHL hockey to the town, our other main objective is to engage the Kitimat community as well as the surrounding areas and I think the people here will see that we’ve done just that.”

There are still a few single-game tickets left for both games, so please click here to get yours or head down to Tamitik Arena or the Riverlodge where you can purchase them in person before they run out.
