Beaudoin, Király, Reierson named FortisBC 3 Stars of the Month

Powell River Kings forward Marek Beaudoin, Blackfalds Bulldogs goaltender Olivér Király and Langley Rivermen forward Aaron Reierson have been named the FortisBC 3 Stars of the Month.

1st Star – Marek Beaudoin (F) – Powell River Kings

Beaudoin led the BCHL in goals and points in October, scoring 10 times in eight games and adding seven assists for 17 points.

The Verchères, Que. product had a point in every game during the month, contributing multiple points in five of eight contests. On Oct. 5 and 16, Beaudoin recorded back-to-back three-point outings, then on the final day of the month, he notched his first hat trick in the BCHL and added an assist for a career-best four points in an 8-5 road win over the Langley Rivermen.

The 19-year-old leads the Kings in scoring and ranks tied for 10th overall in the BCHL with 17 points in 14 games this year. His 10 goals are tied for fourth most in the league, just three back of top spot.

2nd Star – Olivér Király (G) – Blackfalds Bulldogs

Király made his BCHL debut with Blackfalds on Oct. 4 and has gone on to win four of his first five appearances, including three shutouts during the month. He finished October with a .964 save percentage and an 0.80 goals-against average.

After dropping his first start, he allowed just two combined goals over his next four appearances, all resulting in wins. The Hungarian netminder earned a 19-save shutout Oct. 12 against the Surrey Eagles, a 27-save blanking of the Cranbrook Bucks on Oct. 25 and finished the month with yet another shutout, this time on 16 saves against the Spruce Grove Saints.

His save percentage and goals-against average are both tops in the BCHL, while his three shutouts are tied for the most in the league.

3rd Star – Aaron Reierson (F) – Langley Rivermen

Reierson totaled 15 points and nine goals in nine October games to finish tied for second in both categories.

The 2005-born forward put together two straight four-point performances during the month. On Oct. 16, the final day of the BCHL Showcase in Abbotsford, B.C., Reierson collected his first hat trick in the BCHL and added an assist in an 8-5 victory over the Sherwood Park Crusaders. Two days later, the Moorhead, Minn. native had two goals and two assists in the Rivermen’s 6-4 road triumph over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

Reierson’s 10 goals in 18 games this season are tied for fourth in the league, while his 18 points are tied for sixth.
