Cowichan Valley Capitals goaltender McCoy Bidewell, Nanaimo Clippers forward Sean Donaldson and West Kelowna Warriors forward Christophe Farmer have been named the BCHL 3 Stars of the Week.

1st Star – McCoy Bidewell (G) – Cowichan Valley Capitals

Bidewell won both of his starts last week, swatting aside 81 of the 84 shots he faced to finish the week with a .964 save percentage and a 1.50 goals-against average. He also recorded the first shutout of his BCHL career.

The 19-year-old made 46 saves on Wednesday night, including 22 in the first period alone as he guided the Capitals to a 5-3 win over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and earned second star of the game. On Sunday afternoon, Bidewell was back in net as he stopped all 35 shots he faced in a 4-0 blanking of the Coquitlam Express.

The Grande Prairie, Alta. native now has a .919 save percentage on the season, which is sixth best in the BCHL, and a record of 8-8-3.

2nd Star – Sean Donaldson (F) – Nanaimo Clippers

Donaldson tied for the league lead in points last week with six in just two contests, finishing with a pair of goals and four helpers.

On Friday, the 20-year-old from Vancouver, B.C. registered an assist in both the first and second periods in the Clippers 6-4 road win over the Powell River Kings. The two teams played again the next night and Donaldson doubled his production, scoring twice and adding two assists for a four-point night in his team’s 7-3 victory. His second-period goal stood up as the game-winner.

Donaldson is up to 29 goals on the year, which is third most in the league, while his 54 points in 35 games put him in fourth in the BCHL scoring race.

3rd Star – Christophe Farmer (F) – West Kelowna Warriors

Farmer also tie for the league lead in scoring during the week with six points on two goals and four assists over two games.

He got the scoring started for the Warriors late in the first period of their Tuesday night game against the Merritt Centennials and the team would not look back from there, going on to score six more times for a 7-1 win. Farmer added two assists to give him a three-point night and first star of the game. The Blainville, Que. native matched his production the next time out on Friday night in a rematch against the Cents with another three-point effort on a goal and two helpers. His goal midway through the first ended up as the game-winning tally in a 7-2 West Kelowna win.

In 10 games since joining the Warriors from the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Farmer has five goals and 11 assists for 16 points.
