Bochen books future at Michigan

With just 49 games of BCHL experience under his belt, Nick Bochen has already secured the thing some players spend two or three seasons trying to attain.

Bochen has landed an NCAA future at the University of Michigan.

The rookie BCHL blueliner has posted six goals and 21 assists which leads all Prince George Spruce Kings defencemen this season, all the more impressive given the talented D-men PG can boast including Layton Ahac, Liam Watson-Brawn and Dylan Anhorn. Bochen’s commitment to Michigan is for the 2020-21 season so he’ll have another year of BCHL seasoning before heading to campus.

At Michigan, Bochen will join a Wolverines program that competes in the NCAA’s Big 10 conference along with Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Notre Dame and Minnesota.

Michigan has been a solid destination for several BCHL greats over the years including Brendan Morrison, Bill Muckalt, Jeff Tambellini and Andrew Ebbett. The current Wolverines roster includes BCHL alums Dakota Raabe and Jimmy Lambert. Other current BCHL players committed to Michigan are Trail’s Kent Johnson, Merritt’s Nick Granowicz, Penticton’s Cassidy Bowes and Jack LaFontaine and Victoria’s Kenny Johnson.

Current NHL players that have suited up for the Wolverines include Jacob Trouba, J.T. Compher, Tyler Motte, Zach Werenski, Dylan Larkin, Zach Hyman, Carl Hagelin and Max Pacioretty.
