Brar named BCHLPOW

Prince George Spruce Kings forward Ben Brar has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 21, the league announced Monday.

Brar was all over the scoresheet in the Spruce Kings three-game road trip over the weekend, putting up four goals and two assists, including two game-winners, as his team went 2-1-0.

On Friday, the 19-year-old scored the overtime-winner, added an assist and was named the third star in Prince George’s 5-4 win over the Coquitlam Express. The following night in Langley, Brar scored the game-winner again, this time on a shorthanded breakaway, and was named the first star of the game in the Spruce Kings 2-1 win over the Rivermen. The Abbotsford, B.C. native closed out the week with two goals and an assist in his team’s 5-3 loss to Coquitlam on Sunday.
