On the Mainland, the Powell River Kings evened their record on a current 3 game swing as the downed the hometown Burnaby Express at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre. The Kings were 5-2 winners over the Express on the strength of a 2 goal and one assist performance by Erik Vos.
In Langley, the Chiefs handed the visiting Victoria Grizzlies their first loss of the season – edging the Grizzlies 6-4. Derek Grant scored twice and added a single assist in the win. The Grizzlies finish their 3 game road swing with a Sunday afternoon tilt in Surrey.
The lone Island match-up saw the Nanaimo Clippers play the second half of a home and home series with the Cowichan Valley Capitals at the Cowichan Community Centre. The Clippers avenged a loss Friday with a 4-3 win over the Capitals. Brad McConnell led the way for the Clippers with a two goal performance.
The Quesnel Millionaires opened their home schedule with a 3-2 win over the visiting Salmon Arm SilverBacks. Thomas Kala scored once and added a single assist to pace the Mills. The two teams meet again today in Quesnel.
In Trail, the Westside Warriors got goals from four different scorers to defeat the Smokies 4-2. Garrett Beckwith earned the win in goal making 24 saves.
The Vernon Vipers hosted the Prince George Spruce Kings at the Vernon Multiplex and watched the Kings leave town with a pair of points. The Kings bettered the hometown squad 3-1. Kevin Genoe stopped 23 of 24 shots for the win in goal.
