Caps’ Patterson receives Marketer of the Year award

Prior to the Cowichan Valley Capitals home ice tilt with Alberni Valley on Friday night, the British Columbia Hockey League recognized Shari Patterson as the league's Marketer of the Year award winner for the 2007/08 season.

Patterson, has been with the Capitals since 1996 and has served in her current role with the club for nine years, was also awarded with a 2-1 win by her team.

“Shari truly bleeds Capitals colours,” head coach and general manager Scott Robinson says. “She has a hand in everything in our organization and knows our franchise front to back. She’s an indispensible member of our team.”

The honour, which was determined by her peers, recognizes an exceptional performance in community marketing and is awarded annually.

“Our local marketers are the backbone of our league,” BC Hockey League Executive Director Dave Sales says. “Much of the BCHL’s success and growth in recent years can be credited to the hard work of dedicated people like Shari.”
