The Merritt Centennials have appointed Dylan and Tyler Forsythe to form the team’s new coaching and management team, the club announced Tuesday. Dylan Forsythe will serve as Merritt’s Head Coach and Assistant General Manager while Tyler has been brought aboard as General Manager and Assistant Coach. Dylan joins the Centennials following assistant coaching stints with the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Sherwood Park Crusaders and the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Neepawa Natives. Tyler, who also worked with the Crusaders as a goaltending coach, has an extensive background in scouting at the Junior A level in Western Canada. “We’re excited to have Dylan and Tyler on board and we feel like they will be an excellent fit moving forward as they lead the Centennials,” team governor Brian Barrett says of the hires. “Both Dylan and Tyler are hard workers with good hockey experience.
