CALGARY, Alta. (Friday, May 26, 2017) – When the Stanley Cup Final between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators gets underway Monday, there will be no shortage of Canadian Junior Hockey League alumni competing.
A total of 12 former CJHLers, that have seen NHL postseason action to date, are on the rosters of the two teams.
Nashville boasts seven skaters that spent time in the CJHL and have also played in this year’s NHL playoffs.
Six of the Predators skaters are forwards while the other is a defenceman.
Meanwhile, the defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins feature five CJHL alumni on their current postseason roster that have dressed for at least one contest.
Three of them are forwards and the other two are D-men.
