Coast scores the most in All-Star victory

Early and often. That was the Coastal Conference's gameplan when it came to offensive output Wednesday, and it worked.

The Coast built leads of 5-1 and 10-2 at the intermissions and breezed to a 13-5 victory over their Interior rivals in Vernon. A number of Island and Mainland division stars enjoyed productive nights on the scoreboard, including Langley Chiefs forward Derek Grant who notched a hat-trick and added a pair of assists.

Powell River Kings teammates Erik Vos (2G, 2A), Kyle Bodie (1G, 3A) and Clay Harvey (3A) combined for 11 points.

Salmon Arm's Conor Morrison (2G) and Mark Zengerle (3A) combined to tally five points for the Interior while Prince George Spruce Kings blueliner Zack Davies notched a pair of goals.

In net, Powell River's Carsen Chubak and Victoria's Anthony Grieco each allowed just one goal — a considerable accomplishment in an All-Star Game — in their period of action. Meanwhile, Merritt's Harrison May was solid in net for the Interior during a busy third period.
