Coastal Finals Update: Home ice disadvantage bests Kings

The Powell River Kings left Victoria after a weekend of success hoping to take that winning momentum home with them, but were disappointed after the Grizzlies claimed a 6-5 victory.

The Kings capitalized early on chances and had the lead until Cody Bremners tally four and a half minutes into the second.

Bremner ended the night with a three point effort along with fellow Grizzly Lee Baldwin, who was the game's first star.

There were also multiple three point players on the Kings' side, Erik Vos, Darcy Oakes and Clay Harvey each contributed three but found it just wasn't enough to continue on their winning streak.

With everything all tied up after two, the Grizzlies made a goaltending swap and Alexandre Peck was exchanged for Anthony Grieco, who started the third period. Powell River netminder Carsen Chubak didn't see a whole 60 minutes of ice either as he was pulled late in the third in favour of an extra skater.

The Kings and Grizzlies will face off again Wednesday night as the home town Kings will try to expand on their 2-1 series lead.
