Coastal Finals Update: Kings one away from Fred Page Cup Finals

As the Powell River Kings prove themselves to be a dominant force in their series against Victoria, the Grizzlies will have to win the next game at home to stay alive in these playoffs.

The home ice losing streak has now been broken in this conference final series, thanks to the efforts of Erik Vos, Kyle Leahy, Darcy Oakes, Chad Niddery, Mat Bodie and Clay Harvey, who each contributed two points to the Kings 6-2 win over the Grizzlies.

Even though the Grizzlies' Myles MacRae had the first strike of the night and the first period finished in a tie, the outcome heavily favoured the Kings.

Carsen Chubak was strong in goal for Powell River, while the Grizzlies goaltenders Anthony Grieco and Alexandre Peck split the game and the goals against tally.

Friday night will find the Kings in Victoria getting their first of three chances to take the series and the Grizzlies with the opportunity to prolong their playoff run.
