Craighead captures POW honours

Chilliwack Chiefs forward Darien Craighead has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 24, the league announced Monday.

Craighead led all scorers for the week that was with three goals and two assists in four games. He was on the scoresheet each night for the Chiefs, who won two of the four games they played. The Surrey, B.C. product had the game-winner and was 2nd Star in a 3-1 road win the Game 3 of the Finals and followed that with the goal to force overtime in an eventual 3-2 loss in Game 4 where he was 3rd Star. Craighead had the first insurance tally and also had an assist in a big Game 5 win at home and he closed the series with an assist in Game 6.

Committed to Northern Michigan University for next season, Craighead wound up sixth in BCHL playoff scoring with 8-12-20 in 20 games.
