Coquitlam Express forward Nate Crema, Chilliwack Chiefs forward Reese Shaw and Sherwood Park Crusaders forward Joseph Sinclair have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Nate Crema (F) – Coquitlam Express

Crema finished his week with three goals, two assists and five points, helping guide the Express to a pair of home wins.

On Friday night, with his team down 4-3 heading into the final frame, the 2006-born forward scored three straight goals before the halfway mark, his first hat trick in the BCHL, and led Coquitlam to a 7-4 victory over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. He chipped in with an assist earlier in the contest to finish with four points and was named first star of the game. A night later, Crema assisted on the game’s only goal with just 14 seconds to play in a 1-0 Express win against the Victoria Grizzlies.

The North Vancouver, B.C. product is second in team scoring with 17 points in 16 games, while his seven goals are tied for the Express lead.

2nd Star – Reese Shaw (F) – Chilliwack Chiefs

Shaw led all BCHL players in both points and assists last week with six in just two games.

The 20-year-old picked up two assists on Friday night in a home matchup with the Victoria Grizzlies, both of which came with the man advantage, in a 6-1 win. On Saturday, Shaw produced a season-best four points, all of which came via assists, in a 5-2 triumph over the Nanaimo Clippers. Three of his four helpers against the Clippers came in the second period, while one of them was on the power play. He was named the game’s first star.

Shaw went scoreless in his first three BCHL games, but has points in nine straight since then, including nine in his last three outings. His 15 assists on the season are seventh most in the BCHL and his 20 points are one back of the team lead.

3rd Star – Joseph Sinclair (F) – Sherwood Park Crusaders

Sinclair produced three goals and two assists last week for five points in two games.

The rookie scored once on Friday in the Crusaders 7-3 loss to the Brooks Bandits, then stepped up with a four-point night on Saturday in a 5-3 win over the league-leading Blackfalds Bulldogs. After collecting a power-play assist in the second period, Sinclair gave the Cru’ the lead just 1:16 into the final stanza. He scored a second just over two minutes later, then added an assist on goal that capped off a four-goal flurry by Sherwood Park, all within five minutes of play. His performance earned him first star of the game.

The Hamilton, Ont. native is second in league scoring with 27 points, just two back of top spot.
