He waited 11 games to score his first NCAA goal but Jackson Cressey was sure to make it a big one.
The Coquitlam Express alum potted the overtime winner in a 6-5 Princeton win over RPI. In addition to that, Cressey assisted on three goals in regulation, helping the Tigers to the comeback win on home ice over the Engineers.
For his efforts, Cressey was named the ECAC Hockey rookie of the week. The West Vancouver, B.C. native also had an assist in Princeton’s previous game against Union, making it a five-point week for him. On the season, the 6-foot, 180-pound centerman has a goal and seven helpers with all eight of those points coming in his last six games.
In three full seasons plus part of a fourth as an affiliate with the Express, Cressey accumulated 54 goals and 70 assists for 124 points in 170 games. As a rookie, he was part of the Express’ 2014 Fred Page Cup-winning team.
