Cressey key in two more Princeton victories

Cressey_collegeJackson Cressey’s latest points spree coincides with a six-game undefeated streak for the Princeton Tigers and his latest work has earned him more conference recognition.

The Coquitlam Express alum has nine points in his last six games and the Tigers have gone 4-0-2 in that span. Most recently, Cressey had two assists in each game last weekend as Princeton downed conference foes St. Lawrence 3-1 and Clarkson 3-2 in overtime. His work earned him the ECAC Hockey rookie of the week nod for the second time this season.

Against St. Lawrence on Friday, Cressey set up fellow BCHL alum Josh Teves (Merritt Centennials) for the winner and was in on the insurance goal as well by Salmon Arm Silverbacks grad Max Becker.

The next night against Clarkson, Cressey sparked a Tigers third-period rally with an assist on their first goal. After forcing OT, Princeton got the winner with Cressey helping set up the decisive tally.

A freshman at Princeton, Cressey now has five goals and 21 assists on the season. His 26 points are third on the team and he leads the Tigers in helpers.

In three full seasons plus part of a fourth as an affiliate with the Express, Cressey accumulated 54 goals and 70 assists for 124 points in 170 games. As a rookie, he was part of the Express’ 2014 Fred Page Cup-winning team.
