DeBrouwer almost unbeatable, earns BCHLPOW

DeBrouwerNanaimo Clippers goalie Evan DeBrouwer has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 5, the league announced Monday.

DeBrouwer stopped 59 of 60 shots in two games as the Clippers split their first two games against Victoria. The Blenheim, Ont. product turned away 27 of 28 pucks that came his way in Game 1, coming out on the short end of a 1-0 goalie duel where he was named 2nd Star. He was flawless the next night, making all 32 saves in a 3-0 win where he was 1st Star.

Over the two games, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound netminder had a .983 save percentage and a 0.50 goals-against average.
