When you lead your team's attack in knocking off the No. 1 team in NCAA hockey and you're going to attract some attention.
That's what Surrey Eagles alum Tyler Morley did as the University of Alaska-Fairbanks' undefeated weekend hosting top-rated Minnesota State.
Morley scored UAF's only goal in a 1-1 tie Feb. 13 and followed up the next night with two tallies in a 3-1 victory over the Mavs.
The Nanooks handed Minnesota State just their sixth loss overall this season and only their third in conference play. As a result of the weekend series, Minnesota State fell from first to third in the USA Today college hockey polls.
For Morley, now in his junior season with the Nanooks, the showing upped his season totals to a team-leading 13 goals and 19 assists on the season.
With Surrey, Morley played four seasons and 208 BCHL games. The Burnaby, BC product had 67 goals and 89 assists for 156 points in that time.
