Farkas in fine form for BCHLPOW nod

farkas180West Kelowna Warriors goalie Shane Farkas has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 18, the league announced Monday.

Farkas was in net for both Warriors wins last week, making 76 save on 78 shots for a sparkling .974 save percentage. The Penticton product made 35 saves in a 6-1 win over Powell River and followed that with 41 saves and 1st Star in a 2-1 victory over the Nanaimo Clippers.

The 17-year-old netminder has won five straight decisions and is now 11-6 on the season.
