Gelinas back at the helm in Westside

The Westside Warriors announced today the changing of some team personnel. The newest addition to the Warriors, but not an unfamiliar one, is former President and General Manager Gary Gelinas.

Gelinas is now back with the club after working with the New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League as President and GM. Gelinas will assume his familiar role as Managing Partner, President and Governor of the Warriors and will take responsibility for day-to-day operation of the club.

“I am excited to be home; the opportunity to work in Pro Hockey was one that I could not pass up and I enjoyed my time in New Mexico, making some great contacts that will help our players advance to the pro level,” said Gelinas.

“I did however miss the business of junior hockey, what it stands for and means to communities like West Kelowna and our daughter. I am very happy to be back working with great partners, dedicated staff and a community that has welcomed me and the team from day one. I am excited to be back operating the day to day business.”

Warriors’ partners Mark Cheyne and Gary Berman will stay involved with team with Cheyne as an alternate Governor for the Westside Warriors. With this key shuffle of responsibilities Vision Sports Group and the Westside Warriors are excited about the growth potential of the franchise.
