Brooks Bandits forward Jack Good, Blackfalds Bulldogs forward Nikita Ivashchenko and Bandits forward Liam Fitzpatrick have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.
1st Star – Jack Good (F) – Brooks Bandits
Good led all BCHL players with eight points in three games last week, finishing with four goals and four assists as the Bandits took five of six points.
The Merrimack College commit started his week with an assist last Monday in a Family Day matchup against the Okotoks Oilers where Brooks skated to a 7-1 victory. On Friday, Good picked up four points on two goals and two assists in a 9-6 road triumph over the Spruce Grove Saints. The 19-year-old wrapped up his week by contributing to all three Bandits goals, scoring twice and adding a helper, in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Cranbrook Bucks.
After his big week, Good finds himself fourth in the BCHL scoring race with 56 points in 43 games, while his 41 assists are second most in the league.
2nd Star – Nikita Ivashchenko (F) – Blackfalds Bulldogs
Ivashchenko tied for the league goal scoring lead last week with five markers in three contests. He added an assist for six points.
The Kharkiv, Ukraine product was held off the score sheet in last Monday’s 5-2 home win over the Trail Smoke Eaters, before scoring two goals on Friday in a 4-1 road victory over the Vernon Vipers. Both of his tallies came on the power play and he was named first star of the game. The following night, Ivashchenko recorded his first hat trick in the BCHL, adding an assist as well for a four-point performance in a 7-4 victory over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. He was named first star for the second straight night.
The 2005-born forward is third in league scoring with 61 points in 44 games and tied for fourth in goals with 26.
3rd Star – Liam Fitzpatrick (F) – Brooks Bandits
Fitzpatrick also tied for the BCHL lead in goals last week with five, chipping in an assist as well for six points in three games.
The Moose Jaw, Sask. native scored one goal last Monday in the Bandits win over the Okotoks Oilers before tying a season best with five points on Friday in his team’s victory over the Spruce Grove Saints. That night, he scored four goals, two shorthanded and another on the power play. His third of the game held up as the game-winner. This was the third time this season Fitzpatrick has scored at least three goals. He previously scored five in a December matchup with the Saints. He was held pointless in Saturday’s overtime loss to Cranbrook.
The Merrimack College commit has 28 goals on the year, which is tied for the most in the BCHL.
