Gosselin grabs D nod for UAH

Kurt_GosselinWhen he was last seen in the BCHL, Kurt Gosselin was gobbling up 1st-team BCHL all-star kudos, despite playing just half of the 2014-15 season.

Now, as a sophomore at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, Gosselin is continuing to show the form that earned him so much attention as a Junior player. Gosselin was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) defensive player of the week after picking up two goals and an assist in a Chargers road sweep of Alaska-Anchorage.

Gosselin had the final tally in a 5-2 win Nov. 4 and followed that with another goal – plus an assist on the overtime game-winner Saturday – as part of a 3-2 victory. The native of Brighton, Mich. had eight shots on goal in the Saturday win. He has three goals and three assists in 12 games so far this season. This season, the 6-foot, 190-pound blueliner is fourth on his team in scoring.

During three seasons in the BCHL, Gosselin had 26 goals and 61 assists for 87 points in 122 career games.
