Grannary accepts offer to UNO

The Merritt Centennials are proud to announce centre Colin Grannary (Delta, B.C.) has committed to the NCCA Div. I program at the University of Nebraska Omaha for the 2017-18 school year.

Grannary currently leads the Cents in all offensive categories with 24 goals, 39 assists and 63 points. The 6-foot, 170-pound pivot recently participated in the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) Prospects Game in Surrey, where he scored the lone goal for Team West and was named Game MVP

Earlier this month, Grannary was listed by NHL Central Scouting among the top-210 North American skaters and is a possible selection at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The University of Nebraska-Omaha’s hockey team, the Mavericks, compete in the NCAA’s National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), which also includes North Dakota, Denver, Colorado College, Western Michigan, Miami-Ohio, Minnesota-Duluth.

Other BCHL graduates on the Mavericks roster are David Pope, Kirk Thompson, Luke Nogard and Riley Alferd.
