Haas’ Hub with Patrick Haas

Week 21 of the BCHL season is in the books and Trevor Hertz of the Victoria Grizzlies is on a seven-game point streak with his new team however if you include his last three games with the Quenel Millionaires Hertz is on a ten game point streak good for 16 points. The 19-year old from Jaffray, B.C. is now a two-time 30 goal scorer after following up a solid rookie campaign this season. The Grizzlies have a league best 24-1-0-2 record when scoring the game's first goal.

Alex Gellert of the Cowichan Valley Capitals is on a eight-game point streak. Gellert has 34 points in his last 27 games after 16 points in his first 24. The Caps are 20-5-0-2 for a winning percentage of .778 in their last 27 games. Cowichan Valley also has a league-high 19 wins in one-goal games as they are 19-6-0-4. Anthony Perdicaro previewed Friday's game against Victoria with Don Bodger of the Cowichan News Leader and Pictorial saying, “We're going to lay another beating to them,'' he went on to say. “I wasn't very happy in Penticton when I was there. I just didn't mesh well with a lot of the guys. This is probably the best team I've been on in a while. We're 21 buddies in there every day.'' The full article is here. John Digness of the Burnaby Express is on an eight-game point streak since joining his new team for a total of 11 points.

Clay Harvey of the Powell River Kings is on a six-game point streak. The 20-year old from Gull Lake, Saskatchewan is in his third season in the league. Mat Bodie scored his first goal of the season, to go along with 35 assists, on Sunday in Surrey but he also scored at the All-Star Game in Vernon. The 18-year old from East St. Paul, Manitoba leads all rookie defenseman in scoring. The Kings have all eight of their final games on home ice at the Powell River Recreation Complex.

 Brett Mohler of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs is on a six-game point streak and has 14 points in his last 12 games after having 12 points in his first 34 . The 19-year old from Anaheim, California is in his rookie season in the BCHL The Bulldogs are 8-12-0-1 (.405) in non-division games but are 5-20-1-4 (.250) against their Island division counterparts.

Conor Morrison of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks is on a six game point streak for a total of 14 points. Morrison has 21 more goals and 24 more assists in 14 fewer games this year compared to his rookie season. The Silverbacks have lost four of their last seven games after losing only three games in regulation in their previous 35 contests and going 29-3-1-2.

Jordan Gagne of the Westside Warriors is on a five-game goal scoring streak after not having a goal in five straight contests. The 20-year old from Ancienne Lorette, Quebec is in his first season in the league. The Warriors are 5-0-1-1 in their last seven games and eight of their final ten games will be played on home ice at Royal LePage Place. Westside are a league best 26-0-0-0 when leading after two periods.

Goaltender Andrew Hammond of the Vernon Vipers talked about team depth with Kevin Mitchell of the Vernon Morning Star saying: “We have four lines and everybody plays. Every night, it's a new guy stepping up. It's happened all season and it's really worked out well for us. Salmon Arm is more of a two-line team. We're more built for a seven-game series and even if you look at the start of the first to the end of the third, we're wearing teams down.
