Interior Finals Update: Vipers Interior Conference champions

The Salmon Arm and Vernon series has officially come to an end. The Vipers have taken down the SilverBacks after six close games.

Playing away at the Sunwave Centre the Vipers ended Salmon Arm's season with a 3-1 win.

Both netminders had their work cut out for them. SilverBacks goalie and second star of the game, Bryan Gillis put in a solid effort stopping 36 of the 38 shots that were placed on his net. Viper Andrew Hammond was named third star of the night for his 30 stops on the 31 shots that came his way.

Connor Jones played hero scoring each and every one of the Vipers goals including a empty netter in the last minute of play in the third period. His hat-trick boosted the Vipers to the next and final round of playoffs.

While the Vipers new competition hasn't yet been determined, the championship series for the Fred Page Cup will commence Friday April 3rd.

The final best of seven series will see the Vipers take on either the Powell River Kings or the Victoria Grizzlies for BCHL champion bragging rights.
