Kimens heading to Merrimack

Coquitlam Express forward Regan Kimens will be part of the new crop of BCHL players joining the Merrimack Warriors next year as he has committed to the school for the 2019-20 season.

Kimens is currently tied for first in scoring on the Express with 20 points (6-14-20), helping his team jump out to a strong start this year. Last season, the Concord Ont. native played the majority of the year with the Chilliwack Chiefs after playing six games for the Langley Rivermen to start the season. Kimens has 39 points in 74 BCHL games over his two-year career.

Last year, Merrimack had three BCHL alums playing as seniors in Marc Biega, Jace Hennig and Mathieu Tibbet. Since those players graduated, they have made an effort to replenish their BCHL talent as they added former Wenatchee Wild forward August von Ungern and former Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Christian Simeone, who are currently playing their freshman seasons. Along with Kimens, they also have commitments from current Chilliwack Chiefs forward Kevin Wall for next season and Vernon Vipers forward Nicholas Cherkowski for the 2020-21 season.

Merrimack is located in North Andover, Mass. and play out of the Hockey East conference. This year, they’ve gotten off to a 2-5-0 start overall and are 1-2-0 in conference.
